1) At 7:15 PM, Richard Ferch, VE3KI welcomed 36 Chapter members, spouses, ladies and guests, and introduced the head table.

2) Minutes of the May 16, 2017 dinner meeting:
Richard VE3KI asked for approval of the minutes as posted on the Chapter 70 website.
Moved by Cary Honeywell VE3EV and seconded by Dave Parks VE3AV that the minutes be adopted as posted. Carried.
3) President’s report:
Richard Ferch VE3KI announced his resignation as of the end of the year; the proposed new President will be John Barnhardt VE3ZOV, Pat Brewer VE3KJQ continues as a Director and a proposed new Director will be Luc Pernot VE3JGL. Membership will be asked to vote on acceptance of the executive changes at the November meeting.
4) Presentation of 55 year pin and certificate to Richard Bandla VE3CVG.
Rick received his certificate and pin that he wasn’t able to receive at the May awards meeting.
5) Illness and SK Report: - John Barnhardt VE3ZOV, reported on sick and ailing members as follows:
John was happy to report that he had nothing to report.
6) After Dinner Speaker:
The speaker was introduced by Dave Conn, VE3KL.
The main feature was a presentation by Barrie Crampton, VE3BSB on the topic of the The Canada 150th Anniversary C3 Project and the installation and operation of a WSPR Beacon tracking the progress of the ship’s voyage through the North West Passage. Barrie’s presentation was preceded by a brief tutorial on the (Weak Signal Propagation Reporter – WSPR) protocol and software applications by Norm Rashleigh, VE3LC
The speaker was thanked by Richard Ferch VE3KI.
5) Door Prizes and 50-50 draw.
The Door Prizes, presented by Dave Conn, VE3KL, were won by Cary Honeywell VE3EV and Danielle, XYL of Luc Pernot VE3JGL. The 50/50 was won by John Gilbert VE3CXL.
6) Next meeting:
Before closing, Richard VE3KI announced that the Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday November 21 at KS on the Keys.
The speaker will be Ralph Cameron VE3BBM who will give a presentation about the building of the Grand-Prairie to Alaska Microwave System
The meeting was adjourned at about 9:00 PM.
