1) At 6:45 PM, David Conn, VE3KL welcomed 58 Chapter members, spouses, ladies and guests, and introduced the head table.

3) Welcome to new members
-May 16, 2012- James Anderson VE3ERA (not a new member of QCWA Inc., he was a member of Chapter 73)
-September 23- 2012- Cary Honeywell VE3EV (Cary joined QCWA Inc and Ch 70 around 2005.

4) Dave circulated a quiz to be filled out. Answers given after the break.
5) Boat tour: Dave VE3KL asked for a show of hands to see if members are interested in a boat tour on the Rideau or Ottawa River this summer. About 6 indicated interest. This number would not support an event.
6) New Director John Barnhardt
Dave asked Bob Mackenzie to nominate John Barnhardt for a 2 year term as a director for QCWA Chapter 70. The nomination was seconded by Joe Parkinson, VE3JG. Carried.
7) Illness and SK Report: - Richard Ferch VE3KI, reported on the sick and ailing members as follows:
Ken Pulfer, VE3PU, passed away March 31st. Ken was a long time and accomplished member of Chapter 70 and served many years on the Chapter executive. A moment of silence and reflection was held for Ken at the meeting.
The wife of Ernie Brown, VA3OEB, passed away since the last meeting.
George Sansom, VE3GWS, of Kingston, (and formerly Perth) passed away. George was well known in the area for his ARES and Public Service activities.

9) After Dinner Speaker:

John’s talk and slide show was on the subject of his extensive biking activities and specifically his 720 Km, 8 day bicycle tour between Niagara-On-The-Lake and Rivière Beaudette.
John was introduced by Norm Rashleigh, VE3LC, and thanked by Dave Conn, VE3KL
Door Prizes, 50-50 draw
The Door Prizes/50-50 draw for the spouses and ladies were presented by Dave Conn, VE3KL with the assistance of our guest speaker John Barnhardt, VE3ZOV. The door prize was won by guest Geoff Gill who returned the winnings to the Chapter
Before closing, Dave VE3KL announced that the next dinner meeting will be held on Tuesday September 17. Venue to be determined.
The guest speaker will be Dave Goodwin, VE3AAQ, to speak on his Ham radio experiences in China.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
