1959 - Dept of National Defence Ottawa civilian electrical engineer


Transport Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba) started as Superintendent, Maintenance and Operations Division. Promoted to Regional Superintendent,  Maintenance and Operations Division.


1974 - Transport Canada (Ottawa Headquarters) Chief, Maintenance and Operations Division. Promoted to Director - General, Telecommunications and Electronics Air. Later transferred back to Winnipeg.


1985 - Transport Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba) - Retired as Administrator, Central Region.


Amateur Radio History


1958 - Call sign VE3MB in Ottawa. Rig then was 20W exciter, home-brew 4-250 amplifier and NC-300 Receiver.


1974 - had call sign VE3ZN.


1974 - Operating mostly SSB on 75 and 20M as well as 2M FM, while in Ottawa.


1974 - Hold DXCC with 220 countries confirmed.

Member of OVMRC and served as Technical Advisor (1958).

Member of QCWA and Chapter 70, while in Ottawa.

1986 - In retirement, spent winters in Florida. Member of Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association.

Life Member of Manitoba Amateur Radio Museum.


Frank passed away October 18, 2009 in Selkirk, Manitoba at the age of 80 years.
