Ken grew up in Ottawa and attended Ottawa Technical High School, where he received some initial technical training.

1945-1990 Crane Supply Company - Ken spent his entire forty-five year career at Crane, retiring in 1990 as Regional Manager


Amateur Radio History


1953 – First licensed as VE3CCV.


1995 – Ken applied for and received two-letter call sign VE3CV


During his fifty-six years on the air Ken operated most modes and most bands. He was particularly fond of working DX and collecting QSL cards.


Ken was a member of Ottawa Amateur Radio Club and served as President (1956-1957).


He also joined Quarter Century Wireless Association and Chapter 70. Ken was presented with his “50 Year Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin at the May 2003 Chapter 70 dinner meeting.


Ken was the younger brother of Walter (Bud) Willing VE3ANL (SK)

Ken passed away May 23, 2007.
