Education / Employment History


1948 - Acadia University – Graduated with BSc degree (Physics)


1950 – McGill University - Graduated with MSc degree (Electronics Engineering)


1950-1954 - Northern Electric (St. Laurent, Quebec) – Engineer - worked on test set design.


1954-1967 – Northern Electric (Belleville) – Engineer - worked on test set design, sound systems, communications systems paging through noise, intercom equipment and amplifiers.


1967-1990 – Bell Northern Research (Ottawa) – worked on speaker-phones, standards lab, acoustic lab, test lab for customer apparatus, and on IEEE Standards Committee. (Have three patents)



Amateur Radio History


1947 – First licensed as VE1SU at Yarmouth, NS


1950 – VE2AOX in Montreal


1953 – VE3CBE in Belleville and then Ottawa


Had countless portables and mobiles and operated many Field Days - some SSB but mainly, and forever, CW.



Member of QCWA and Chapter 70. QCWA “60 Years Licensed” Golden Certificate and lapel pin were presented at the Chapter 70 May 2010 dinner meeting.
